Detailed Day Wise Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Leh

Arrive at Leh Airport and transfer to the hotel.
Spend the day at leisure to acclimatize to the high altitude.
Evening: Visit the local Leh Market and taste traditional Ladakhi cuisine.
Overnight Stay: Leh

Day 2: Leh – Monastery Tour

Begin the day with a visit to Hemis Monastery, the largest and wealthiest monastery in Ladakh.
Explore Thiksey Monastery, known for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa.
Visit Shey Palace, the former summer palace of the kings of Ladakh.
Overnight Stay: Leh

Day 3: Leh to Alchi – Uleytokpo

Drive to the ancient Alchi Monastery, known for its intricate murals and artwork.
En route, visit Magnetic Hill, Sangam Point (confluence of Indus and Zanskar rivers), and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib.
Continue to Uleytokpo, a serene riverside village.
Overnight Stay: Uleytokpo

Day 4: Uleytokpo to Nubra Valley (via Khardung La Pass)

Drive through Khardung La Pass, the highest motorable road in the world, to reach Nubra Valley.
Arrive in Nubra Valley and visit Diskit Monastery, home to a giant Maitreya Buddha statue.
Explore the sand dunes at Hunder and enjoy a camel safari (optional).

Day 5: Nubra Valley – Turtuk Excursion

Full-day excursion to Turtuk, a quaint village recently opened to tourists.
Discover the unique Balti culture and enjoy views of the majestic Karakoram Range.
Return to Hunder by evening.

Day 6: Nubra Valley to Pangong Lake (via Shyok)

Drive to Pangong Lake via the scenic route along the Shyok River.
Arrive at Pangong Lake and witness its ever-changing colors.
Spend the evening by the lake, enjoying the serene and tranquil atmosphere.
Overnight Stay: Pangong Lake

Day 7: Pangong Lake to Leh (via Chang La)

Early morning: Enjoy sunrise at Pangong Lake.
Drive back to Leh, passing through the scenic Chang La Pass.
Visit Rancho’s School (from the movie 3 Idiots) and Druk White Lotus School on the way.
Overnight Stay: Leh

Day 8: Departure from Leh

Check out from the hotel and transfer to Leh Airport.
Board your flight back home, carrying wonderful memories of Ladakh.
